EfficiencyWise Program

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP), is now offering licensed contractors an opportunity to become certified sellers and installers of energy efficient products through the department’s EfficiencyWise program. Certification allows contractors to handle EfficiencyWise projects and receive referrals from the League of California Homeowners when requested by homeowners interested in home improvement work.

The EfficiencyWise program covers selected permanently installed residential energy efficiency upgrades and participating homeowners receive competitively priced unsecured financing of up to $20,000. This can help contractors overcome sales barriers involving higher initial costs of energy-efficient home features and appliances.

For more information on certification requirements or a certification application, contractors should contact Viewtech at 1-877-99-LADWP. The EfficiencyWise program also works in conjunction with the DWP’s HVAC equipment incentive offer and more information is available by calling 1-800-GreenLA.
