Viewtech Financial Services, Inc. ("Viewtech"), originally called Volt Energy Systems, was a division of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. ("Volt"/NYSE:VOL), a current Fortune 1000 company. Formed in 1974, principally to provide energy utility industry staffing for meter reading, energy audits and other utility conservation programs, Viewtech evolved over the years, by changing both the name of the company, as well as its core business focus. In 1993, the newly titled Volt VIEWtech, Inc., branched out into the areas of computer, internet and finance-based energy and water conservation program administration, making an important critical niche for itself.
James S. McLain, employed with Volt Information Sciences, Inc. for nearly twenty years, served as President of Volt VIEWtech for approximately the last dozen of those years, before purchasing the renamed Viewtech Financial Services, Inc. subsidiary in August 2005.
